L. A. Chamerovzow letter, 1855.

The collection consists of a letter (three pages in Chamerovzow's manuscript) on the stationery of the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society, where Chamerovzow writes on 15 February 1855 to a Miss Hildrith about his Slave Life in Georgia, asking her how many copies she feels she can dispose of and if she will promote sales of the Anti-Slavery Reporter. He mentions several influential British anti-slavery leaders and alludes to the policy of emancipation in South Africa. In conclusion he notes the he writes "in relation to the effort I have made to bring about a better understanding among British Abolitionists."
